Dr Brian Mouatt , Chairman of World Dental Development , FDI World Dental Federation and former Chief Dental Officer has called for more undergraduate and CPD education in nutritional science and oral medicine.
In an article published in the latest edition of Dental Digest, Dr Mouatt states that due to the mounting body of evidence linking nutritional disturbances to oral pathology, a more integrated approach to nutrition is required.
Dr Mouatt says “ Nutritional science and oral medicine deserve a higher profile in our undergraduate and CPD educational system. Their importance is clear and they are without doubt, most interesting topics, deserving of our time.”
